450DH Outrunner Brushless Motor
4 50DH – 25 Amps 300 Watts KV: 3800 Weight: 2oz (58g) Diameter: 27.7mm Length: 43.5mm Shaft: 2.3mm 2-4 Cell Lipos The 450DH with it’s high KV and super torque is a great match for the slightly larger planes that need some power. Although we have not completely ran this motor through it’s paces it has shown to have plenty of power for planes in 3-4 pound class, and all out 3D to 30 oz. here at altitude . At altitude it is hard to find an affordable, light, efficient motor that can hover a plane in the 30oz range. That is until we introduced the 450DH. This motor finds a home here in the popular sport planes that never seem to have enough power at elevation such as the Mini Katana, Edge, Extreme Extra, and many more.. You lucky folks at lower elevations where the air actually has something for the prop to bit into should have plenty of power for birds up to 3-4 pounds. Did we mention a ton of fun for the heli guys. I am not really into the helis but local guys are loving it with a 9T, 10T, and 11T pinions on the t-rex, and a bigger unknown to me helis. I am told the head speed is insane and a few folks raved about what they can do to their throttle curve, while saving amp draw and extent flight time. Not quite sure what that all means as it relates to helis but the folks seem to love it. Comes with motor and mounting screws only. No mount and no connectors for the ESC. The power of this motor does have one draw back. It tends to make you gear it past the point of good speed. Geared to low with to big of prop it is easy to pull more amps then you expected. This motor loves to operate in the 20 amp range. for .25 extra conversion, the Mini Katana, G480, and other like birds. The motor can be testy, and your batteries will need to be up to par if you are one of those power junkies, But it can be tamed with the right gearing and prop combination. Geared 3.9:1 on a 3 cell is pushing 400watts with awesome speed. Geared 5.28:1 with a 3 cell is pushing better then 250 watts for a pleasant thrust to speed combination..
